The sinter machine grate is a key component in the sintering process. Its function is similar to the skeleton structure that supports the sintered  in a high-temperature environment. These closely arranged metal bars are laid horizontally on the sinter trolley to form a uniformly breathable bearing surface. The small gaps between the grate bars allow hot air to penetrate the material layer, and the permeability of the material particles must be precisely controlled to form a stable combustion zone during the sintering process.

The grate bars are in a harsh environment of high temperature, corrosion and mechanical stress for a long time, so they need to be cast with heat-resistant alloy materials. Its surface is usually designed with a wavy or concave-convex structure, which can increase the friction with the sintered material to prevent slippage and improve the combustion efficiency by reasonably distributing the airflow. The grate bars in different areas will adjust their thickness and density according to the temperature gradient. This gradual design helps to balance the structural stress caused by thermal expansion.

During the operation of the sinter machine, the grate bars must withstand hundreds of kilograms of material layer pressure and withstand the test of periodic rapid cooling and heating. Its physical properties directly affect the air permeability uniformity and finished product strength of the sintered ore. As the service life increases, the grate bars will gradually experience oxidation loss, deformation or gap expansion, and regular maintenance and replacement are required to maintain the stable operation of the sintering system. The precise grate system is like the breathing system of the sinter machine. It ensures efficient energy transfer and material conversion in the entire sintering process by dynamically balancing the relationship between material load and air flow.
