Their rotor linear speed is usually between 35-50m/s, which can not only ensure that the high chromium material can play its wear-resistant advantages, but also avoid the risk of brittle fracture caused by excessive rotation speed. Secondly, hammer crushers that process medium-hard materials (such as limestone and coal gangue) are also suitable for high chromium hammers. The compressive strength of such materials is mostly in the range of 100-150MPa, which will not cause excessive impact on the hammers, but can give full play to the wear resistance of high chromium alloys. For materials with high water content (such as wet coal, sludge, etc.), the corrosion resistance of high chromium hammers makes them an ideal choice for vertical compound crushers. However, it should be noted that in jaw crushers that crush ultra-hard materials (such as basalt and granite), high chromium hammers are prone to breakage due to excessive impact force. In addition, when a single-stage hammer crusher uses a high-chromium hammer, it is recommended to use a low-speed design of the rotor (linear speed less than 40m/s) to ensure safe use. In terms of economy, although the initial cost of a high-chromium hammer is high, its service life in the above-mentioned applicable equipment can reach 3-5 times that of ordinary materials, which can significantly reduce the crushing cost per ton of material.
